The World Cup of Darts is gonna be hosted in city of Frankfurt at the end of this June 2024. This year’s Dutch team is consist of Michael van Gerwen and Danny Noppert as well.
But Interestingly, Few Dutch players will be representing also other nations. Like Jules van Dongen will play for the U.S.A., Cor Dekker for Norway, and Jeffrey de Graaf represents Sweden. Kevin Doets, who has lived in Sweden for many years in his life, has also considered a similar switch like he will be representing Sweden.

He says that “I am Dutch by birth and would prefer to play for the Netherlands over Sweden,” Doets shares this on the ‘Double Top’ podcast. “Although that’s not a final decision yet. however I give myself another five years to make it to the National Dutch team for the World Cup of Darts. If I haven’t succeeded by then, I will choose Sweden for sure.”

He also added that “I would rather make my debut in a different way” – Mike De Decker wants to earn World Cup of Darts spot, not be gifted due to Huybrechts’ injury.
“I give myself five more years, otherwise it will be Sweden” – Kevin Doets has a backup plan for World Cup of Darts appearance
Kevin Doets is currently ranked number 54 in the world.
“I totally understand Kevin’s perspective; he was born in the Netherlands and wants to represent his proud home country,” said fellow darts player Jerry Hendriks. “But he has lived in Sweden for a long time, so if he has the option to play for that country, it makes sense to understand it.”
“However, A Swedish passport will be needed for that, and I heard from Jeffrey de Graaf that it can take quite some time to collect and complete all the formalities sorted. It would be quite amusing if Sweden played at the World Cup of Darts with two Dutchmen. And, interestingly, the top female player in Sweden is actually Belgian by birth.”
