PETER WRIGHT WON…The entire Darts universe is watching and enjoying in its full mood and swing, The 12th Players Championship tournament of the 2024 Pro Tour is in full speed going wild, and the initial results have been a good mix of wins and defeats for some big names.

Dart Star Peter Wright won, also known as Snakebite in his fans and media, narrowly just avoided an upset defeat against former WDF star James Hurrell lately. Even Hurrell averaging over just 101, Wright somehow managed to win 6-5 points. Also multiple-time major winner James Wade was defeated in the first round by Player Ricky Evans, who ended up securing a 6-3 victory with an average of just over 101.

Dutch Players’ Progress
As you might have been following that Wessel Nijman, Jermaine Wattimena, and Jurjen Van der Velde all jumped to the next round, every one at the expense of a fellow Dutch player. Nijman eliminated Dirk van Duijvenbode managed to have reached the semi-finals of the previous tournament. The initial five legs went smooth with the darts, but Nijman broke with a 15-darter, followed by two more breaks, leading 5-3, and finishing with a 17-darter.
Wattimena won his match in a deciding leg against Niels Zonneveld. Zonneveld took the first leg with an 18-darter, but Wattimena then won four legs in a row. Zonneveld fought back to 4-4, and they each held their throw. In the final leg, Wattimena clinched it with an 11-darter. Van der Velde’s match against Kevin Doets also went to the wire. Van der Velde won the first two legs but found himself 3-2 down after five legs. It went to 5-5, and although Doets started the last leg, Van der Velde hit a 180 and a 140, winning with a 14-darter.
Other Notable Matches
Notable to see that there were victories for Jose De Sousa, Cameron Menzies, and Callan Rydz. The Belgian players also had a good promising start, with the first three in action making it to the last 64. Kim Huybrechts secured his first match, defeating Ritchie Edhouse 6-3. Mike de Decker beat Graham Usher 6-1, and Andy Baetens
Defeated Luke Woodhouse 6-3.
